You can build up a complete grid of tones you like this way. If you like certain tones, but not others, you can lock those in place and generate a new random sound selection which will only be applied to the sample slots that aren’t locked. Additionally, you can export the individual samples as wav files as well, and a path is provided for exporting both a performance and individual samples to Zoltov’s SunVox patching environment. For example, one sample, when played at MIDI note 7, produced a steady clear tone, by MIDI note 67, it had become a grainy short decaying snare-like sound, and by MIDI note 103, it had become a repeating sequence of pitched and noisy shards. If you use an external controller, you have access to a much greater range of transpositions of your samples, and due to the noisy synthesis algorithm, and I think fold-over of the sounds at different sampling rates, these can change greatly over the transposition range. The three octave touch screen keyboard is shown in the top figure below. These are played either on-screen, with a one-octave or three-octave drum grid, or with an external MIDI controller. Zolotov claims that there are a potential four billion different sounds available – more than enough for an afternoon’s entertainment.
